About the Founder and Owner
Welcome to Zoop! I am super excited you have found us. We would be honored to make a product that lands in your business or home!
I have been in the packaging business for about 20 years and have had the opportunity to travel the globe visiting and working in just about every bag manufacturing plant you can imagine. Working conditions and quality control standards are all over the map – literally! I’ve observed the worst and the best, with the best being in the United States.
Currently, more than 70% of all zip-top polyethylene bags used in the USA are made in either China or Thailand. The proof is in your inventory or pantry! If you look for the country of origin, you will find “Thailand” or “China” on most products.
I decided to start my own manufacturing plant in the central Texas area with the goal of producing a superior product and adhering to ethical business and product standards. I wanted to rekindle American-made products, provide jobs and instill pride in our product. In 2020, amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, Zoop began production in San Marcos, Texas. I am on a mission to convince companies and consumers to buy from a US-based company producing superior products.
If you buy from Zoop it is my promise that your purchase will help employ USA workers. Our materials come from natural gas refined in Texas and Louisiana. Our packaging is produced in Texas. Our workers reside in Texas. We spend our money and raise our families in Texas. We pay our taxes to the IRS. We support our community. We are committed to help the less fortunate. My personal passion is helping widows, single parents, orphans, the unfed, the unclothed, and displaced persons. I encourage employees to support people they believe are in need and cover these gifts through company gift-matching and subsidizing employee contributions.
On a personal note, I am a native Texan and a graduate of Texas State University. I am blessed to be married to my wonderful wife for 27+ years with three equally fantastic daughters. It makes me proud to support the community that educated me and has supported my family. I’m thankful for the opportunity to give back through Zoop, and for the customers that support this cause.
